About Sankofa Learning Place
We support educators, schools, and families through evidence based coaching, professional learning, tutoring and intervention services, and literacy support that create lasting impact for students.
Built on the wisdom of looking back to move forward.
I founded Sankofa Learning Place on a simple idea borrowed from the Akan people of West Africa: it is never wrong to go back and reclaim what was left behind. In education, that means meeting every teacher, student, and school exactly where they are, not where a generic program assumes they should be.
With more than six years serving educators and families across Brooklyn, I've built Sankofa around three communities: classroom educators, families, and school systems, because real, lasting change in education happens when all three are supported at once.
